Assam MLA Rumi Nath leaves husband, converts to Islam

Assam MLA Rumi Nath leaves husband, converts to Islam

A woman Congress legislator from Assam was thrashed by a mob at a hotel in Karimganj town late Friday night after she converted to Islam and married a Muslim friend, police said Saturday.
Rumi Nath and her husband Jacky Jakir, who were badly injured, were being shifted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital Saturday for treatment, police said.
Sources close to the legislator said she was pregnant.
Nath, who had won the Borkhola assembly seat in Assam’s Barak Valley on a BJP ticket in 2006, had defected later and joined the Congress. She contested the 2011 assembly elections on a Congress ticket and retained the seat.
She married her friend and long time family acquaintance Jacky Jakir, a Muslim by faith, last month and it angered most of her supporters. She also converted to Islam before the marriage. She, however, did not divorce her first husband, Rakesh Kumar Singh and left the daughter from her first marriage in her parents’ house.
After she revealed her second marriage, some of her supporters and social organisations in the Barak Valley warned her not to enter the area. The MLA had been out of the state with her second husband since then.
“The couple came to Karimganj last evening and were staying for the night at the Hotel Nakshatra. Angry residents somehow came to about the presence of Rumi Nath and her second husband and physically assaulted the duo. Although she had body guards and police reached the spot immediately, it became difficult to control the huge mob,” Karimganj Superintendent of Police Pradip Pujari told IANS.
“While we were able to rescue both of them, they have been seriously injured. Both the MLA and her husband Jacky Jakir are being shifted to Guwahati for better treatment Saturday morning,” Pujari said.
“The situation has been contained as of now but we are keeping a close vigil so that it does not take any religious angle. Investigation is also on to find out the culprits involved in the incident on Friday night,” he said.

Daughter of a Rajput family embraces Islam

Daughter of a Rajput family embraces Islam

Hyderabad, May 14:
Thakur Prahlad Singh cautioned his daughter Madhurani (36) ‘see the decision you have taken is extremely wrong, you go back with your decision and no one would say anything to you. You will get back daddy, mummy, and brothers and sisters’ love. But Madhurani did not pay heed to father’s anger and admonishment. Finally Thakur Prahlad Singh told Madhu ‘by looking to your determination it seems that you would rest only after accepting Islam, see! if you want to change your religion, you may become a Christian or accept Buddhism or you can become an ascetic if you like, but don’t become a Muslim. I know very well about Islam and Muslims. Woman has no position in this religion. She is thought to be a house maid. You will repent after accepting Islam. If you insist on accepting Islam I will kill you.’
When Thakur Prahlad Singh stopped expressing his views, Madhu started talking with full confidence and religious fervor. Her father, mother and others remained awestricken listening to her speech.
Madhu allayed all their apprehensions regarding Islam with complete proofs. She said ‘if there is any religion which gave a respectable status to women that is Islam. By saying that ‘Heaven lies beneath mother’s feet’ Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) raised the position of woman to the height of the sky. As far as the matter of violence is concerned, Islam didn’t teach violence rather it propagated the message of peace and brotherhood.
Daddy you term Islam as the religion devoid of manner and conduct and you think yourself to be cultured and well-mannered person still you warn me to kill if I accept Islam, while our prophet (pbuh) saved girls from being buried, nearly 1500 years ago.
Prahlad Sing and other family members remained speechless after listening to Madhus’ lecture.
Later they decided they would not force her but will convince her with love and affection. But Allah guides whom He wills. So now Madhu is before us as a pure Muslim girl and hope her parents would also embrace Islam some day.
Madhu Rani is the eldest daughter of Thakur Prahlad Singh retired government servant. She belongs to Rajput family; she has two brothers and two sisters.
Madhurani whose Islamic name is Khadija told that the pleasure and tranquility she experienced after embracing Islam cannot be narrated in words. She was born in Warangal.
Throwing light on the causes and reasons behind accepting Islam, Khadija told that she decided to embrace Islam after deep study of religious books of Hinduism and the holy Quran. She thought herself to be the most blessed person after becoming a Muslim. Answering a question she told that there were few Muslim workers in the company where she used to work; and she liked the way her friends used to offer prayers. She was very much impressed to see congregational prayers. She further told that though she was born in a hardcore Hindu family, from the beginning itself, she disliked bowing down before multiple gods.
Khadija told that Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) is repeatedly mentioned in all the Hindu religious scriptures. All the books also mentioned Oneness of Allah.
After studying the religious books for years, many questions came to her mind. Who is she? What is her aim of life? But when she started reading the holy Quran she found answers to all her questions.
According to her she recited ‘kalima’ silently for three years and used to pray secretly. But it became difficult for her to stay in her house after becoming Muslim. Hence seeing all these problems Khadija left her house on March 20, 2012 leaving a chit stating she is leaving her house for Islam with her own consent.

GOD IS ONLY ONE? (NOT THREE!)

The True God, The Creator
sent:                          to convey:
 --------- Adam                   God is One

--------- Noah                    God is One

--------- Abraham             God is One

--------- Moses                   God is One

--------- Jesus                     God is One

--------- Muhammad         God is One

God sent these major prophets as well as many other prophets and messengers to accomplish several tasks and missions, some of which are:

1) To receive guidance from God and

deliver it to people.

2) To convey the message that God is One.

3) To be role models to their people.

4) To instruct their people to fear God and keep His commandments.

5) To teach their followers important religious and moral tenets and worldly matters.

6) To guide those who deviated, disobeyed God, or worshipped other gods or idols.

7) To tell people about their final destination (the Last Day) and what leads to Paradise or Hellfire.
It is the same God who created and sent those prophets and messengers. He is the Creator of all humans, all animals, and all objects. It is this ONE TRUE GOD who created the whole universe (including nature) and all it contains. He is the Creator of life, death, and life after death.
The Oneness of this true God, the Creator, is clearly evident and easily traceable in the holy scriptures of the Jews, Christians, Muslims, and others.
Studying the concept of God in the Bible and the Qur’an sincerely and objectively, a sincere seeker of the truth would be able to discern the unique qualities belonging to the true God only.
Some of the qualities that distinguish this only true God from others who claim to be God are:

v This true God is Creator, not created.
v This true God is ONE, not three or more! He has no partners nor equals.
v This one true God is invisible; no one can see Him in this life. He is not physically manifested or incarnated in other forms.
v This one true God is eternal; He does not die or change.
v This one true God is not in need of anyone like a mother, a wife, or a son; or anything like food, drink, or help. But others are in need of Him.
v This one true God is unique in His attributes; no one is like Him. No human or animal descriptions can be attributed to Him.
We can use these criteria and qualities (as well as other ones belonging to Him alone) in examining and rejecting any claims of being God.
Now let me turn to discuss the one message mentioned above and cite some of the Biblical and Qur’anic verses confirming the Oneness of God.
But before that, I would like to share with you this thought:
Some Christians might wonder, “It is obvious that God is one. We believe in one God.
So, what is the point?”
However,  based  on  a great deal of  reading   and   studying   materials  on
Christianity and dialogues with many Christians, I came to understand that they perceive this one God to include:

1- God the Father.
2- God the Son.
3- God the Holy Spirit.

So, based on common sense and simple logic, a sincere and honest seeker of the truth could reason:
v What do you mean by saying that GOD is ONE, while you refer to THREE GODS?
v Is God ONE in THREE or THREE in ONE (1 in 3 or 3 in 1)?!
In addition to that, and according to Christian dogmas, these three “Gods” have different identities, images, roles, and functions:
1. God the Father = the Creator.
2. God the Son = the Savior.
3. God the Holy Spirit= the Counselor.
By the way, if Jesus, God the Son (or Son of God) is really God or part of the one God, doesn’t this contradict what the Bible itself reports that no one can see God, nor hear His voice? The Bible states:
v YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD HIS VOICE NOR SEEN HIS FACE. (John 5: 37)
v NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN HIM. AND NO ONE CAN SEE HIM.
(1 Timothy 6: 16)
v NO ONE CAN SEE ME AND STAY ALIVE. (Exodus 33: 20)
Based on these and other Biblical texts, I sincerely and honestly ask: “How can we reconcile the dogma that Jesus is God and the Biblical testimony that no one has ever seen God, nor heard His voice?”
Didn’t the Jews at his time, his family, and his followers SEE Jesus (God the Son, as some believe!) and HEAR his voice?
®  Is there any secret or hidden purpose
concerning the truth about God?
In the Bible, the true God emphatically testifies, I am the Lord, and there is no other god. I have not spoken in secret or kept my purpose hidden… I am the Lord, and I speak the truth; I make known what is right. (Isaiah 45: 19)
So, what is the truth?
Please re-read the verse and think about it!
Now, let us take off on a journey of seeking the truth about the one true God in the Bible and the Qur’an.
At the end of this journey and after your critical, sincere, honest, and thoughtful reading of this booklet and particularly the verses cited below, I would like to know your reactions or views.

To be as objective as possible,
I cite the verses without any comment.
Please read the following verses
CAREFULLY, CRITICALLY
And
WITHOUT ANY PRECONCEPTIONS.
The One True God in the Bible
(The Old Testament):
Ø Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord. (Deuteronomy 6: 4)
Ø Has not the One God made and sustained for us the spirit of life?
     (Malachi 2: 15)
Ø You may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after Me. I, I am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior. (Isaiah 43: 10-11)
Ø I am the first and I am the last; besides Me there is no god. Who is like Me? (Isaiah 44: 6)
Ø And there is no other god besides Me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides Me. Turn to Me and be saved…To Me every knee shall bow. (Isaiah 45: 21-23)
THESE ARE JUST SOME VERSES FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT.

Can you think of
other similar ones?
The One True God in the Bible (The New Testament):
Ø  One came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he (Jesus) said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God.          (Matthew 19: 16-17,
        in King James Version)
Ø Now this is life eternal, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
     (John 17: 3)
Ø Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only. (Matthew 4: 10)
Ø Hear O Israel: The Lord our God is One Lord. (Mark 12: 29)
Ø For there is one God and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1Timothy 2: 5)
Can you recall other
verses confirming that
GOD IS ONLY ONE?

‘Jesus predicted coming of Prophet Mohammad’ in Bible found in Turkey

A 1,500-year-old Bible in which Jesus is believed to have foretold the coming of the Prophet Mohammad to Earth has attracted attention from the Vatican this week.

Pope Benedict XVI has reportedly requested to see the book, which has been hidden in Turkey for the last 12 years, according to the Daily Mail.

The text, reportedly worth $22 million, is said to contain Jesus’ prediction of the Prophet’s coming but was suppressed by the Christian Church for years for its strong resemblance to the Islamic view of Jesus, Turkish culture and tourism minister Ertugrul Gunay told the newspaper.
“In line with Islamic belief, the Gospel treats Jesus as a human being and not a God. It rejects the ideas of the Holy Trinity and the Crucifixion and reveals that Jesus predicted the coming of the Prophet Mohammad,” the newspaper reported.

“In one version of the gospel, he is said to have told a priest: ‘How shall the Messiah be called? Mohammad is his blessed name.’

“And in another, Jesus denied being the Messiah, claiming that he or she would be Ishmaelite, the term used for an Arab,” the newspaper added.

According to the report, Muslims claim the text, which many say is the Gospel of Barnabas, is an addition to the original gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John.

St. Barnabas is traditionally identified as the founder of the Cypriot Church, an early Christian later named an apostle.

Gunay said the Vatican has officially requested to see the book, which Turkey had discovered during a police anti-smuggling operation in 2000.

The gang was reportedly convicted of smuggling various items seized during the operation, including the Bible, and all the artifacts were kept in a safe at an Ankara courthouse.

It remained closely guarded by authorities before being handed over to the Ankara Ethnography Museum where it will soon be put on show.

A photocopy of a single page from the leather-bound, gold-lettered book, penned in Jesus’ native Aramaic language is reportedly worth about $2.4 million.

But skepticism over the authenticity of the ancient handwritten manuscript has arisen.

Protestant pastor İhsan Özbek has said this version of the book is said to come from the fifth or sixth century, while St. Barnabas had lived in the first century as one of the Apostles of Jesus.

“The copy in Ankara might have been written by one of the followers of St. Barnabas,” he told the Today Zaman newspaper.

“Since there is around 500 years in between St. Barnabas and the writing of the Bible copy, Muslims may be disappointed to see that this copy does not include things they would like to see … It might have no relation with the content of the Gospel of Barnabas,” Özbek added.

But suspicions could soon be laid to rest.

The real age of the Bible could soon be determined by a scientific scan, theology professor Ömer Faruk Harman told the Daily Mail, possibly clarifying whether it was written by St. Barnabas or a follower of his.

Azan inspires Hollywood actor Liam Neeson to convert to Islam

Azan inspires Hollywood actor Liam Neeson to convert to Islam
Hollywood actor Liam Neeson has announced that he may convert to Islam as he was inspired by Islamic call to prayer (Azan) while filming in Istanbul, Turkey, media reports quoted the actor as saying on Monday.
He was ranked at number 69 on Empire magazine’s 100 greatest movie stars of all time in 1997.
Neeson, 59,   is an Irish actor, who has been nominated for an Oscar, a BAFTA and three Golden Globe Awards. He has starred in a number of notable roles including Oskar Schindler in Schindler’s List, Michael Collins in Michael Collins, Peyton Westlake in Darkman, Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars (the film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and an episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Alfred Kinsey in Kinsey, Ra’s al Ghul in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises as well as the voice of Aslan in The Chronicles of Narnia film series.
“There are 4000 mosques in the city (Istanbul) – some are just stunning, and it really makes me think about becoming a Muslim,” he said.
“The call to prayer happens five times a day, and for the first week, it drives you crazy, and then it just gets into your spirit, and it’s the most beautiful thing.” Neeson, a Roman Catholic, said he had always been religious and was always questioning the meaning of life.
“It’s a very good thing and it shows people it’s not a religion to be scared about or frightened about, and that it’s a religion that people are interested in and are attracted to, and when you’ve got someone like that attracted to it, they might think `maybe there is something in this religion’,” he said.

Corrupt Leaders and Islam

 Corrupt Leaders and Islam
About corruption and what to do about Muslim leaders whose
methodology or teaching is to commit the haram (prohibited)
The Prophet (sallallahu aleihi wa sallam) said:
"Allah does not punish the individuals for the sins of the community until they see the evil spreading among themselves, and while they have the power to stop it, do not do so." (Ahmad)
Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said:
"This is why those who are in authority are of two groups: the scholars and the rulers. If they are upright, the people will be upright; if they are corrupt, the people will be corrupt."

The Noble Qur'an - Hud 11:85
"And O my people! Give full measure and weight in justice and reduce not the things that are due to the people, and do not commit mischief in the land, causing corruption.

The Noble Qur'an - Hud 11:113
And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire should touch you, and you have no protectors other than Allâh, nor you would then be helped

Do not split from the Jamaa'ah
as a result of a corrupt leader

Hadith - Al-Bukhari and Muslim, and other narration by at-Tirmidhee (no. 2867) and Ahmad (4/130).
Allaah’s Messenger (SAAWS) said, "He who sees from his ruler something he dislikes, let him be patient with him, for he who splits away from the Jamaa’ah by a handspan and then dies, dies a death of Jaahiliyyah" and in a narration, "then he has thrown off the yoke of Islaam from his neck."

Be Firm yet Just with a Corrupt Muslim

The Noble Qur'an - Al-Ma'idah 5:8
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allâh and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is WellAcquainted with what you do.

Shaykh Abdul-Azeez ibn Baaz, hafidahullah was asked, "Is it from the manhaj (methodology) of the Salaf to criticise the Rulers from the minbar (the pulpit)? And what is the manhaj of the Salaf with respect to advising the Rulers?" He responded:
It is not from the manhaj of the Salaf to publicise the faults of the Rulers and to mention such things from the pulpit because that leads to confusion/disorder and the absence of hearing and obeying the ruler in what is good. it also results in (the people) becoming engrossed (with these matters, arguing and debating) which causes harm and produces no benefit. The followed path with the Salaf, however is to give naseehah (advice) with respect to the matters which are between themselves and the leader, writing to him or by reaching him through the scholars who keep in touch with him (to advise him) until the ruler is directed towards the good. Repelling the evil occurs without mentioning the doer of the evil. So fornication, drinking of intoxicants and the taking of usury are curbed without mentioning the one who does such things. Warding off the evil and warning and the people against it is sufficient without it being mentioned that such and such a person does it, whether he is a ruler or other than the ruler.
And when the fitnah occurred in the time of 'Uthmaan , some of the people said to Usaamah ibn Zaid , "Will you not speak to "'Uthmaan?" So he replied, "You think that I will not talk to him without letting you know about it (also). Indeed, I will certainly talk to him regarding that which concerns me and him without initiating a matter which I do not love to be the first to initiate."

Hadith - Reported by Ahmad (3/403) and Ibn Abee 'Aasim (2/521) with a saheeh isnaad.
It is authentically reported from the Messenger in the hadeeth of 'Iyaad ibn Ghunum who said, "The Messenger of Allaah (saaws) said, 'Whoever desires to advise the one with authority then he should not do so openly, rather he should take him by the hand and take him into seclusion (and then advise him). And if he accepts (the advice) from him then (he has achieved his objective) and if not, then he has fulfilled that which was a duty upon him.' "

Sexual Corruption
The Noble Qur'an 24:30
Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what they do.
Hadith - Sahih Bukhari Book 25, No. 5403
Some persons from Banu Hisham entered the house of Asma' daughter of Umays when AbuBakr also entered (and she was at that time his wife). He (AbuBakr) saw it and disapproved of it and he made a mention of that to Allah's Messenger saaws and said: I did not see but good only (in my wife).
Thereupon Allah's Messenger saaws said: Verily Allah has made her immune from all this. Then Allah's Messenger saaws stood on the pulpit and said: After this day no man should enter the house of another person in his absence, but only when he is accompanied by one person or two persons.
Hadith - Al-Tirmidhi 3118, Narrated Umar ibn al-Khattab , Tirmidhi transmitted it
The Prophet saaws said, "Whenever a man is alone with a woman the Devil makes a third."

In order to Lead the People,
You Must Qualify to be a Wali
Hadith - Dawud 2078, Narrated 'Aisha r.a. [also related by Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and others. Tirmidhi said, this is a hasan Hadith]
"If they dispute, then the sultan (man in authority) is the wali of those who have no wali."

The Duty of the Muslim to Give Sincere Advice to the Corrupt Ruler
"The master of martyrs (sayyid al-shuhada) is Hamza, and a man who stands up to a tyrant ruler and gives him nasiha (advice). And so the ruler kills him"
The Prophet (SAW) continued to say : 'By Allah you have to enjoin good (Maroof) and forbid evil (Munkar), and hold against the hand of the unjust ruler (Zalim), and force him on the truth strongly, or you have to limit him to the truth'. By this evidence, which is the hadith commenting on the verse, Allah (SWT) has prohibited us from remaining silent against the evil (Munkar), and He commanded us to remove it. Allah (SWT) commanded the Muslims to enjoin Maroof and deny Munkar, and made it a duty upon them to do so. Allah (SWT) said; 'Let it be from among you a group who call to the good, enjoin Maroof and deny Munkar'. Allah (SWT) also said: 'You have been the best nation (Ummah) brought to the people, because you enjoin Maroof and deny Munkar'.  [Musnad of Ahmad]

Saying of the Salaf
'Abdullah ibn Mas'ood (radiallaahu 'anhu) used to say:
"Whoever aids an oppressor or taught him an argument to nullify the right of an ordinary Muslims, has drawn upon himself the anger of Allaah".

The Noble Qur'an 33:60-61
If the HYPOCRITES, and those in whose hearts is a disease (evil desire for ADULTERY, etc.), and those who spread FALSE NEWS among the people in AlMadinah, cease not, We shall certainly let you OVERPOWER them, then they will not be able to stay in it as your neighbours but a little while. Accursed, wherever found, they shall be seized and killed with a (terrible) slaughter.

Hadith - Al-Tirmidhi 3741, Narrated Abdullah ibn Abu Awfa
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Allah is with the qadi as long as he is not tyrannical, but when he is, He departs from him and the Devil attaches himself to him." [Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.]

Fighting a corrupt muslim ruler
If an Imam (leader) or Amir (ruler) becomes corrupt he should first be given a call to Islam (submission) in private, or possibly in public if his evil deeds were done in public. If he does not turn away from his evil deeds, he should be overthrown or removed from position. However, in the process of removing him from position, he should not be physically fought, such as waging war with weapons. This is because the ruler is still muslim, and the muslims are not to attack or kill another muslim. If, however, the Muslim leader or ruler completely abandons his salat, he nullifies his Islam and can be fought if necessary. (However, to prove this, it would take an Islamic court or similar situation in which the person could defend themselves against all accusations).
Hadith - Sahih Muslim 4569, Narrated Umm Salamah, r.a.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: In the near future there will be Amirs (rulers) and you will like their good deeds and dislike their bad deeds. One who sees through their bad deeds (and tries to prevent their repetition by his hand or through his speech), is absolved from blame, but one who hates their bad deeds (in the heart of his heart, being unable to prevent their recurrence by his hand or his tongue), is (also) safe (so far as God"s wrath is concerned). But one who approves of their bad deeds and imitates them is spiritually ruined. People asked (the Prophet): Shouldn't we fight against them? He replied: No, as long as they say their prayers.
Hadith - Related by Ahmad, Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, anNasa'i and Ibn Majah
Buraidah reported that the Prophet Peace and Blessings be upon him said, "The pact between us and them is prayer. Whoever abandons it is a disbeliever."
