Film star plans marriage after embracing Islam

South Indian actress Monica has embraced Islam, leaving behind the life of lights. “I have converted

not because of love or money and I am not such a person. I embraced Islam because I like its principles,” she told reporters.
“Hereafter I won’t act in films, it gives some pain but I don’t change my mind.” 
She has changed her name to Rahima.
Monica added: “I have been practicing Islam for almost four years now. My father is a Christian and my mother is a Hindu and they support my decision fully. My last film ‘Nadhigal Nanaivathillai’ would be releasing soon and I won’t be acting in films henceforth.”
Born as Rekha Maruthiraj, she took the name Monica for her acting career in Tamil and Telugu films. Later, she changed her name to Parvana for Malayalam films. Now her Muslim name is M.G. Rahima.
She announced her decision in Chennai at a news conference on Friday in which she released photos showing her wearing modest costume and hijab.
Monica, who had won Tamil Nadu State Award as the best child actor for her performance in En Aasai Machan, was last seen in Tamil film Jannal Oram in November 2013. Monica is not the first Indian celebrity to revert to Islam.
Monica’s parents Maruti Raj and Gracy were also present at the press meet. “I am strongly inspired by the Islamic tenets which I read in books. I am planning to settle down and will announce my wedding plans soon,” Monica said.

Indian singer Hans Raj Hans embraces Islam, wants to go Madina

Hans Raj Hans, one of the famous Indian singers, a popular name in Sufi Music and Punjabi folk songs, and also a politician, has confirmed media reports in which it was mentioned that he has converted to Islam during his recent visit to Lahore.

Mohammad Yousaf (Hans Raj Hans) showed his desire of going and visiting Madina Munawara (a Holy place of Muslims in Saudi Arabia).

He exclaimed that he has studied Islam very closely. Then he started to read the Holy Quran and that is when he started to feel the essence of teachings of Islam and the divine revelation.

I listened to the call of my heart and decided to embrace Islam as a religion, he added.

The singer says that Islam is the religion of love, brotherhood and peace. He mentions that what inner peace he received after converting to Islam, he cannot explain in words.

Hans Raj Hans, a Sikh by birth, will now be known as Mohammed Yousuf, reports added. However, he will keep his original name for his professional endeavours.

Nonetheless, reports in the Indian media have quoted Hans Raj Hans’s son Navraj refuting the reports of his father converting to Islam. Navraj said that his father is unwell and is at their home in Jalandhar.

Navraj had married singer Daler Mehendi’s daughter Ajit in November 2013 according to the Sikh traditions at a Gurudwara in Gurgaon.

Hans Raj is not the only one from Bollywood industry who converted to Islam, before Hans internationally renowned musical maestro and Oscar Award winner musician AR Rahman, yesteryears actress Sharmila Tagore, Bollywood’s famed creative genius lyricist-poet-screenwriter and film director Gulzar,and Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni have also converted to Islam in past .

Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Sumait , may Allah reward him, is a doctor and a preacher from the State of Kuwait and the founder of Direct Aid Society, a charitable preaching society.
Dr. Al-Sumait has dedicated his life for preaching in Africa and this long struggle has been crowned with great results as there are thousands of preachers who are working for the Direct aid Society and they were guided by Dr. Al-Sumait to embrace Islam and have become Muslim preachers. Some of them had been priests before they embraced Islam. So, let’s donate as much as we can and call on the rich and the merchants to donate.
A very very very permanent great reward, God willing, until the Judgment Day. If each one of us donates a dinar, the outcome will be millions of dinars, and it will be more if the merchants and businessmen participate with us.

The thing that impressed Dr. Al-Sumait so much that he cried when he visited an area where its inhabitants embraced Islam, then they cried and screamed because their parents had died before embracing Islam." O Muslims! Where were you? Why were you late for long years?" They asked. Such words made Dr. Al-Sumait cry bitterly and feel responsible for those who died before they embraced Islam.
Dr. Al-Sumait claimed blood accumulation three times in his head and heart but his high determination kept him working.
Although he has been suffering from diabetes, he has never quitted traveling and sacrificing, may Allah regard him much better than we do and forgive him, us and all Muslims.
In an interview run by Dr. Ayid Al-Mana'a for Kuwait T.V, Dr. Al-Sumait said that he had traveled to an African country and  within few days hundreds of people had embraced Islam so, a European catholic priest had come to him and said :" I and my father were born here and my grand father had come here about one hundred years ago and our aim has been to urge people to embrace Christianity, but only few people have done, yet you have spent here only few days and hundreds of people have embraced Islam".

 This is because Islam is the innate religion.

One of the things which displeases Dr. Al-Sumait is the huge donations that the societies of Christianization receive from Christians compared to the few donations from Muslims.

Among the donations paid by non-Muslims for the Christianization activities , as detected by Dr. Al-Sumait , the donation paid by the owner of Microsoft company and amounted one billion dollar, 114 million dollar donated by a Dutch businessman. In a ceremony held by one of the supporters of Christianization in New York, he decided to distribute a copy of the gospel  on every house in the world and this idea required 300 million dollars to be carried out. Within one day he managed to raise 41 million dollars. " I walk hundreds of kilometers… My car breaks down… My shoes are torn…. In order to reach a village…. And at the same time, I find a Christian preacher comes to that village by plane !!!

MADINAH – Former Dutch Islamophobe Arnoud Van Doorn unveiled plans to produce an international film on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Islam. 


In an exclusive interview with Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Doorn, who reverted to Islam last month, said that he will devote his life fully to spread the true message of Islam and the Prophet of Mercy through promoting the film across the world. 


“I will spare no efforts to protect the rights of Muslims in all European countries as well as to serve Islam and its followers throughout the world. I will try my best to repair the damage that I caused to Islam and its Prophet (peace be upon him) through the film ‘Fitna’,” he said. 


Doorn, a former leading member of far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ party, visited Saturday the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah to pray and say sorry for becoming part of the blasphemous film. Doorn was among the Freedom Party leaders who produced the film, Fitna. 


After visiting the Prophet’s Mosque, he arrived in Makkah Sunday and performed Umrah. Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, and other presidency officials received him. 


In the interview, Doorn said that he regrets being a part of such an offensive film. “However, now it is a closed chapter and absolutely I don’t want to recall about it. The film that sparked widespread reactions was a totally wrong step on our part as it contains a lot of misleading and incorrect information that are nothing to with this noble divine religion and its Prophet (pbuh),” he said, adding that he wants to do some remedial work so as to minimize the damage caused by ‘Fitna.’


Doorn said he decided, in cooperation with the Toronto-based CDA, to produce an international film aimed at removing misgivings about Islam and its Prophet (pbuh). 


“I will use all my experience in producing an alternative film, which will speak about the true image of Islam and all aspects of the personality of the Prophet (pbuh) as well as his great qualities.”


Doorn repented for his involvement in the blasphemous film. “It was unfortunate that I did not make any efforts to know what really Islam is and who is the Prophet (pbuh) before blindly believing in the misinformation campaign being unleashed by the anti-Islamic forces. When I came to realize that it was not Islam, I decided to study about the religion and that led to my conversion,” he said. “Now, I am really enjoying the beauty of Islam and am extremely delighted in Allah’s great blessing to guide me onto His path. It is an explicable experience for me,” he said adding that his former colleagues in the Freedom Party are angry at his acceptance of Islam, which is still a bête noire for them. “The party stands against Islam and its spreading in Europe. Some of them now consider me as a traitor.”


Doorn has a message to those who oppose his reversion to Islam. “Let me tell them that this is my personal decision and I see a new life in Islam that I don’t want any way to give it up. I happened to see on social networking sites several comments, expressing feelings of antagonism and hatred toward me,” he said adding that all these sprang out of ignorance, contempt and animosity against Islam and the Muslims. 


He also thanked all those who supported him and commended him for beginning a new life as a Muslim. 


Referring to his visit to the holy land, Doorn said: “Had anybody mentioned me about visiting the land of the two holy mosques earlier, I would have called him a lunatic. 


“But what happened now is realization of a dream and it is still unbelievable for me that I am now in the holy city that hosted the Prophet (pbuh).” He continued saying: “I couldn’t control my feelings when I stood in front of the grave of the Prophet (pbuh) as well as in Rawdah Sharif, near the pulpit used by the Prophet (pbuh). When I prayed at Rawdah Sharaif, my eyes were full of tears as I had the feeling that I am in a part of the Paradise.”


Doorn said that he was amazed to see the intensity of love and affection the Muslims have for their Prophet (pbuh). “I also realized the intensity of hatred that some Westerners have against Islam and the Prophet (pbuh) and that was based apparently on their ignorance and prejudice. 


“Therefore, I decided to make endeavors to repair the damage caused by the offensive film, which was produced with an ulterior motive of creating sedition in between Muslims and non-Muslims,” he said, adding that he took a pledge in front of the grave of the Prophet (pbuh) that he would strive to spread his true message and his great qualities that are instrumental in promoting peace and harmonious relations among the people worldwide. 


While thanking CDA for introducing Islam to him, Doorn unveiled his plans to associate with its Dawa wing, which is comprised of several well-known Islamic preachers and scholars.

It was not too long ago that we witnessed the grisly massacre of minority Rohingya Muslims in the Arakan (Rakhine) state of Myanmar (Burma). Many of the western observers who grew up seeing the smiling face of Dalai Lama were simply shocked to see armed Buddhist monks participating in that ethnic cleansing of the unarmed Rohingya Muslims. Not only had the monks participated in those violent criminal acts with their fellow Buddhist Rakhine zealots terrorizing the minority Muslims of the western frontier state but they were also guilty of providing the very rationale – a criminal one - for such inhuman crimes against the members of a non-Buddhist faith who were different ethnically, culturally and religiously.

"Governments are meant to guarantee rights, ensure that people are treated equally before the law, that nondiscrimination is the rule of the land, and that minorities have their rights protected," said Phil Robertson of Human Rights Watch. "After seeing this [violence in Meikhtila], would anyone be confident in saying that the government is doing a good job?"

Surely not! But with western appetite for Myanmar’s natural resources on the rise, human rights have taken a back seat. And thus, none of the veto-wielding countries are stopping this extermination campaign against the Muslims of Myanmar, and punishing the regime for its monumental failure, or worse yet collusion, to safeguarding their lives and properties. In their failure, the notion of Buddhists, especially monks, rampaging through Muslim neighborhoods with weapons is becoming a recurring phenomenon. And this must stop not only for the health of Buddhism but also for greater good of humanity.
