A beautiful poem –" I'm Malakul Maut " Angel of Death

A beautiful poem – I'm Malakul Maut "
It was early in the morning at four,
When death knocked upon a bedroom door.

Who is there? The sleeping one cried.
I'm Malkul Maut (Angel Of Death), let me inside.

At once, the man began to shiver,
As one sweating in deadly fever,

He shouted to his sleeping wife,
Don't let him take away my life.

Please go away, O Angel of Death!
Leave me alone; I'm not ready yet.

My parents and family on me depends,
Give me a chance, O please prepense!

The angel knocked again and again,
Friend! I'll take your life without a pain,

Tis your soul Allah requires,
I come not with my own desires..

Bewildered, the man began to cry,
O Angel I'm so afraid to die,

I'll give you gold and be your slave,
Don't send me to the unlit grave.

Let me in, O Friend! The Angel said,
Open the door; get up from your bed,

If you do not allow me in,
I will walk through it, like a Jinn.

The man held a gun in his hand,
Ready to defy the Angel's stand..

I'll point my gun, towards your head,
You dare come in; I'll shoot you dead.

By now the Angel was in the room,
Saying, O Friend! Prepare for you doom.

Foolish man, Angels never die,
(except when Allah will give death to everyone on day of kayamat)
Put down your gun and do not sigh.
Why are you afraid! Tell me O man,
To die according to Allah's plan?
Come smile at me, do not be grim,
Be Happy, to return to Him.

O Angel! I bow my head in shame;
I had no time to take Allah's Name.

From morning till dusk, I made my wealth,
Not even caring for my own health.

Allah's command I never obeyed,
Nor five times a day I ever prayed.

Ramadan came and a Ramadan went,
But I had no time to repent.

The Hajj was already FARD on me,
But I would not part with my money.

All charities I did ignore,
Taking usury more and more.

Sometimes I sipped my favorite wine,
With flirting women I sat to dine...

O Angel! I appeal to you,
Spare my life for a year or two.

The Laws of Quran I will obey,
I'll begin my SALAT this very day.

My Fast and Hajj, I will complete,
And keep away from self-conceit.

I will refrain from usury,
And give all my wealth to charity,

Wine and wenches I will detest,
Allah's oneness I will attest.

We Angels do what Allah demands,
We cannot go against His commands..

Death is ordained for everyone,
Father, mother, daughter or son.

I’m afraid this moment is your last,
Now be reminded, of your past,

do understand your dreadful fears,
But it is now too late for your tears.

You lived in this world, two score and more,
Never did to you, your people adore.

Your parents, you did not obey,
Hungry beggars, you turned away.

Your two ill-gotten, female offspring,
In nightclubs, for livelihood they sing.

Instead of making many more Muslims,
You made your children non-Muslims?

You did ignore the Mua'dhin Adhaan,
Nor did you read the Holy Quran.

Breaking promises all your life,
Backbiting friends, and causing strife

From hoarded goods, great profits you made,
And for your poor workers, you underpaid.

Horses and cars were your leisure,
Moneymaking was your pleasure.

You ate vitamins and grew more fat,
With the very sick, you never sat.

A pint of blood you never gave,
Which could a little baby save?

O Human, you have done enough wrong,
You bought good properties for a song.

When the farmers appealed to you,
You did not have mercy, tis true.

Paradise for you? I cannot tell,
Undoubtedly you will dwell in hell.

There is no time for you to repent,
I'll take your soul for which I am sent.

The ending however, is very sad,
Eventually the man became mad

With a cry, he jumped out of bed,
And suddenly, he fell down dead.

O Reader! Take moral from here,
You never know, your end may be near

Change your living and make amends
For heaven, on your deeds depends.

if this poem inspires you,
It can help someone too.

At least take some time, and do not ban
And send it to as many people as you can.
This poem may change many lives,
And Allah may have for you a great surprise.

Korean Troops Convert to Islam

 Korean Troops Convert to Islam

"I became a Muslim because I felt Islam was more humanistic and
peaceful than other religions. And if you can religiously connect with
the locals, I think it could be a big help in carrying out our peace
reconstruction mission." So said on Friday those Korean soldiers who
converted to Islam ahead of their late July deployment to the Kurdish
city of Irbil in northern Iraq.
At noon Friday, 37 members of the Iraq-bound "Zaitun Unit," including
Lieutenant Son Hyeon-ju of the Special Forces 11th Brigade, made their
way to a mosque in Hannam-dong, Seoul and held a
 conversion ceremony.

in Hannam-dong, Seoul on Friday. /Yonhap

The soldiers, who cleansed
 their entire bodies in accordance
with Islamic tradition, made their conversion during the Friday group
prayers at the mosque, with the assistance of the "imam," or prayer
leader. With the exception of the imam,
all the Muslims and the Korean
soldiers stood in a straight line
to symbolize how all are equal
before God and took a profession
 on faith.
They had memorized the Arabic confession, " Ashadu an La ilaha il Allah, Muhammad-ur-Rasool-Allah,"
which means, "I testify that there is no god but God (Arabic: Allah), and Muhammad is the Messenger of God."

Moreover, as the faithful face the "Kaaba," the Islamic holy place in Mecca,
Saudi Arabia, all Muslims confirm that they are brothers.

For those Korean soldiers who
 entered the Islamic faith,
 recent chances provided by the
Zaitun Unit to come into contact
 with Islam proved decisive.
Taking into consideration the fact
that most of the inhabitants of
Irbil are Muslims, the unit sent
its unreligious members to the Hannam-dong mosque so that
 they could come to understand
Islam. Some of those who participated in the program were entranced
by Islam and decided to convert.
A unit official said the soldiers were inspired by how important religious homogeneity was considered in the Muslim World; if you share religion,
you are treated not as a foreigner, but as a local, and Muslims do not
attack Muslim women even in war.
Zaitun Unit Corporal Paek Seong-uk (22) of the Army's 11th Division said,
"I majored in Arabic in college and upon coming across the Quran, I had
much interest in Islam, and I made up my mind to become a Muslim
during this religious experience period [provided by the Zaitun Unit]."
He expressed his aspirations. "If we are sent to Iraq, I want to participate
in religious ceremonies with the locals so that they can feel brotherly love
and convince them that the Korean troops are not an army of occupation.

Call for calm in film ‘fury’ - ‘Respect all religions’

Call for calm in film ‘fury’ - ‘Respect all religions’

Several Muslim and Christian religious figures have called for rational reaction against the movie defaming Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

The religious figures stressed that people should avoid irrational reaction, so as to send a civilized message of religious harmony.

The movie was produced in commemoration of the 9/11 attack. American pastor Terry Jones  burnt a copy of the Holy Qur’an last year to mark the 9/11 attack.

Reverend Emmanuel Ghareeb of the Anglican Church in Kuwait has condemned the acts disgracing religious symbols. He required all religious symbols must be respected and noted those behind such activities dishonor Christianity, as the religion calls for respect for other religions.

Muslim cleric Dr Khalid Shuja’ Al-Otaibi said many people throughout history have tried to disgrace Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He added respect and reverence of the Prophet (PBUH) must be instilled in people by telling them about his virtues. He is sad many Muslim youths do not know the status of their Prophet (PBUH), which Almighty God even explains in the Holy Qur’an. He is of the view that shameful events of this nature must be an opportunity for non-Muslims to know about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and by the grace of God, embrace Islam.

Meanwhile, Acting Pope of Egypt’s Coptic Church Pope Bakhomious strongly condemned the movie saying the act dishonors Islam with the aim of stirring conflict among people in the same nation. He reiterated the Coptic Orthodox respects Islam and Muslims.

For his part, Secretary General of the Salafist Movement Bader Al-Shihab said every reaction to events that dishonor religious figures must be rational, stressing events of this nature are generally backed by organizations and not individuals.

Beautiful woman, who wanted a very pious husband

Beautiful woman, Who wanted to get married
There was this beautiful woman, who wanted to get married, but she wanted a very pious husband, so she said that she’ll marry the man who recites the whole Quran every single day, fasts for the whole year and staysawake and worships Allah all throughout the night.
She was a very beautiful woman, and a lot of suitors wanted to marry her, but they knew

they couldn’t fulfil the conditions she set. Until this one man stepped forward and said he could

fulfil them. So the Imam got both of them married.

\After the first night of the marriage, the wife sees that the husband doesn’t recite the wholeof the

Quran, nor does he fast, nor does he stay awake in the worship of Allah, she decided to let it roll

onfor a few weeks to see if there were any changes, there weren’t, so she filed a complaint and

asked for a divorce.

They are both taken in front of the judge, and the judge asked, ‘What were the conditions of the

marriage?’ the man replied ‘They were for me to recite the whole Quran daily, keep fast for the

whole year and to worship Allah allthroughout the night.’

The Judge asked, ‘ did you fulfil them? The man calmly answered, ‘…yes.’

The judge answers, ‘you lie, your wife has said that you don’t, that’s why she’s asking for a

divorce’.

But the man insisted that he had fulfilled the conditions, so the judge asked, ‘did you recite the

fullQuran everyday?’ The man answered yes. The Judge, baffled asked, ‘how? How can you do

that?’

The man coolly answered, ‘I reciteSurah Ikhlas three times a day and according to Prophet

Muhammad (saw), reciting Surah Ikhlas three times is equivalent toreciting the whole Quran.’

The Judge was intrigued, so he asked, ‘how did you fast the whole year?’

The man answered, ‘ I fasted for the whole month of Ramadan, then kept another six fasts in the

month of Shawwal, according to Prophet Muhammad (saw), keeping all of the fast of Ramadan

then keeping six fasts in the monthof Shawwal, is as if you have fasted for the whole year.’

The Judge remained silent, he couldn’t give a reply saying the man was wrong, so finally he asked,

‘ how did you stay awake allnight and worship Allah, when your wife saw you sleeping?’ The Judge

thought the man wouldn’t be able to answer this one,

But the man, cool as a cucumber answered, ‘I prayed Salatul Isha with jamaat, then the next day

prayed Salatul Fajr with jamaat, according to Prophet Muhammad(saw), the one who prays Salatul

Isha and Salatul Fajr with jamaat, itis as if he had stayed up all night worshipping Allah.’

The Judge sat there looking at the man; the final verdict was about tobe released…

He said to the man and his wife, ‘…go, just go, there is nothing wrong with this marriage’…

what say Islam and Christinity about Anti islamic Film "FITNA"

Fitna: A Christian response to an anti-Islamic film

Richard Shumack

Geert Wilder’s short film Fitna aims to shock, and succeeds in doing so. The fifteen minute film was posted on the Internet in late March. In the days since, it has disappeared and reappeared for various reasons, including threats to the staff of the video-sharing website on which it was hosted. Named after the Arabic word for schism, the format of the film consists of a simple pattern. A verse of the Qur’an apparently advocating violence is quoted, followed by footage of Muslim preachers exhorting related violent action and real world examples of corresponding acts of violence. The film-maker’s central message is clearly seen in the conclusion: the Qur’an supports acts of violence and terrorism, and Muslims must address this by removing the offending verses.

There is much here that is disturbing in both content and approach. The violent episodes are gut-wrenching. The representation of the Qur’anic verses makes Islam appear unambiguously supportive of terrorism and brutality - certainly the preachers shown in the film read the Qur’an in such a way as to endorse violence. Yet the graphical statistics are without context. Geert Wilder’s extreme right wing politics are also problematic. There is however one crucial question raised: Does the Qur’an indeed promote violence in the name of Islam?
don’t judge Islam by its worst advocates

At first glance the Qur’anic verses quoted seem clear in what they advocate. For example Fitna quotes Qur’an 47:4:

Therefore when ye meet the unbelievers, smite at their necks and when ye have caused a bloodbath among them bind a bond firmly on them...

Footage follows of hit lists of enemies of Islam and brutal attacks on individuals such as Theo van Gogh, the murdered Dutch film director and vocal critic of Islam. However there are multiple factors to consider in interpreting a verse in the Qur'an. The most obvious is context. In the case of 47:4 classical commentators such as Ibn Kathir universally explain the historical context as military (the Battle of Badr) . The verse itself even continues:

…and [confer] grace upon them afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens.

If the context is an historical military battle, and if the command is not simply towards a bloodbath, but to honourable, if brutal, military ethics then things are a bit more complicated then they seem in the movie.

There are other interpretive questions too. Is this Qur’anic injunction situational in application? Is this verse tempered by other teaching? Has it been ‘abrogated’ by other verses?  Is it metaphorical or symbolic? Are the interpretations taken by teachers in the movie representative of the Muslim scholarly community? Prof Mohamed Elmasry, national president of the Canadian Islamic Congress notes the difficulties:

For the last 1400 years, Muslims and their religious scholars have dealt – and are still dealing with − the important question of how much of the Qur’an is binding on Muslims at all times and how much of its teachings apply only to the age of the Prophet Muhammad and the particular circumstances in which he and his followers lived. This is a continually difficult question…

The shock of the movie, and the subtlety of Qur’anic interpretation leads me to two challenges: one for non-Muslim observers, one for Islam. For the non-Muslim encountering any anti-Islamic polemic such as Fitna, it is important to be slow to adopt the rhetoric without first questioning your understanding of Islam and the Qur’an. Ask whether an Islamist reading of the Qur’an is authentic. Pick up a Qur’an and read it for yourself. Ask your Muslim neighbour how they read these verses in the Qur’an. Importantly, don’t judge Islam by its worst advocates. Comparing the worst evil perpetrated in the name of Islam with the best good done in the name of Christ (or vice versa) achieves nothing. The argument of Fitna must be established or dismissed by the Qur’an.

But the challenge for Islam is that this may not be a simple task. To follow up on Prof Elmasry’s comments, if the debate over the current application of so called ‘sword’ verses in the Qur’an is still unresolved, then it is not at all clear that Islamist readings of the Qur’an can easily be dismissed as aberrant. Even the most modernist of Islamic scholars such as Seyyed Hossein Nasr agrees the Qur’an endorses violence in the name of Islam, even if it is only in self-defence .

What then does it mean to speak of the Qur’an as a message of peace, when there is no clear agreement on what is ‘self- defence’, (especially in the days of pre-emptive strikes)? Who are ‘the innocent’? What is the line between ‘war’ and ‘terrorism’ for a powerless people? Muslims are unlikely to adopt Wilder’s suggestion of removing selected verses from the Qur’an, but the challenge is to outline clearly whether Islamists are reading it incorrectly.

Richard Shumack is a CPX fellow and a post-graduate student in Islamics at Melbourne University.
